Kittens football squad rally for the cancer cure

Currently the Grambling High School Kittens are 1-1 on the season.  In the season opener, Grambling was defeated by Red River, but in week two the Kittens recovered with a victory over Tensas High School.

The Kittens are led by Head Coach Johnny Thomas and assistant Coach Billy Norman.  Grambling High School players have been recognized as “Players of the Week.”

In week one, seniors Jerome Hudson and Tyrek Mitchell received the award, and in week two, Javorius Harris and Jerome Hudson received the award.

This year the Louisiana High School Athletic Association is requiring schools to maintain a website for their teams using Max Preps.  If you visit the Max Preps website you can view Grambling High School’s team roster, team schedule, and individual team member’s stats. 

On Friday, Sept. 25 Grambling High School will take on district rival Cedar Creek in the Lincoln Parish Purple Bowl.  

Before the game fans were encouraged to purchase shirts, balloons, and lanterns for the American Cancer Society.

The Kittens will take on D’Arbonne Woods at Bernice on Friday, Oct. 2 and Plain Dealing at Plain Dealing on Friday, Oct. 9. Both games are district play and began 7 p.m.
