The Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha won the Homecoming Step Show and qualified for the Bayou Classic Step Show.

The annual Tabasco Homecoming Step Show was prepared to keep things "hot" this time around bringing Homecoming to its close. Students packed the Men's Gym on the campus of Grambling State University this past Saturday and prepared to see a show. Meanwhile, the Greek organizations participating were eagerly preparing to put on a show.Unlike previous step shows this one featured a unique group of steppers called the Unity Step Team. This team consisted of members from the participating sororities and fraternities. This step show also featured members of Kappa Alpha Psi from Louisiana Tech.

The competition heated up with an opening performance by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., which featured a "Charm School" like theme. They were however not to be outdone by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. The AKAs prevailed in a close win with the score Zeta Phi Beta 348 points and Alpha Kappa Alpha 354 points.

Although a smaller competition than previous years both teams represented Grambling State University well to on lookers. Alpha Kappa Alpha will go on to represent Grambling at the 2007 Bayou Classic Step Show and were also honored with a five hundred dollar check.

The men also kept the entertainment "hot" and "spicy" bring a new flavor to the Tabasco sponsored step show. Competition featured the members of Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, and Phi Beta Sigma.

All teams swooned female members of the audience with love songs, while showing off their precision stepping skills. For the second year in a row however members of Alpha Phi Alpha will go on to represent the men at this year's Bayou Classic Step Show.
